Taylor Swift is personally responding to a plagiarism lawsuit. The 32-year-old singer is being sued by Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, the songwriters of the 2001 song “Playas Gon’ Play” by 3LW.

The 3LW song contains the lyrics “playas, they gonna play” and “haters, they gonna hate” while Taylor‘s hit song contains the lyrics, “‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.” “The lyrics to ‘Shake It Off’ were written entirely by me,” Taylor said in a sworn declaration that was filed in response to the accusations. For those who don’t know, 3LW was the girl group made up of Naturi Naughton and The Cheetah Girls stars Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams.

Their biggest hit was “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right).” In the declaration, Taylor said that her parents “did not permit me to watch TRL until I was about 13 years old.
