Taylor Swift‘s doppelganger Ashley Leechin, who has a large TikTok presence with 1.6 million followers, is facing backlash for pretending to be the pop star during a shopping mall prank over the weekend. Ashley teamed up with YouTuber Vic In the Game to see what it would be like to experience a “day in the life” of a celebrity.
Videos on social media showed Ashley being escorted around Los Angeles shopping mall The Grove with several security guards while hundreds of fans rushed around them to catch a glimpse. Taylor‘s fans have slammed Ashley‘s actions as the real singer has to deal with this on a daily basis and uses security guards due to actual threats made against her.
The timing was also unfortunate seeing as Taylor had to deal with a similar crowd of people while attending a friend’s wedding over the weekend in New Jersey. Ashley is now responding to all of the criticism. Keep reading to find out more… “I don’t follow Taylor’s every move, so with everything that happened, I was definitely late finding out a lot of that stuff,” Ashley said, referencing the crowd at the wedding over the weekend. Ashley also criticized some of the intense fans Taylor has who get too possessive. “There is a possessiveness over Taylor.
I feel like that possessiveness can get dangerous and it did show, it really did,” she said. “I had such a positive experience in person and then, of course, online you get a whole different beast.” You can watch Ashley‘s full video below.
