Taylor Swift Edinburgh foodbank donation will leave 'lasting impact' on Scots capital

Taylor Swift has donated to foodbanks across Edinburgh after her record-breaking shows which opened the UK leg of her sell-out Eras tour.

The Cruel Summer singer has garnered a reputation for charity help, making a difference in the cities she is touring. Now another worthy cause has shared their delight at benefiting from her generosity which is said to leave a "lasting impact" on the Scots capital.The Edinburgh Food Project has revealed they were contacted by the 34-year-old superstar's team ahead of her first gig at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday much to their "suprise".

The donation was made to the Trussell Trust charity which runs seven foodbanks for people in crisis needing emergency food parcels in Edinburgh.

The charity told the Record it agreed not to share the specific amount donated but confirmed "it will make a big difference" to the people the foodbank supports with already 10,000 food parcels made this year alone.Bethany Biggar, Edinburgh Food Project Director, said: “We are thrilled that Taylor has decided to support the foodbanks and leave a lasting impact on Edinburgh.
