Taylor Lautner Discussed How His Perception of 'Twilight' Changed for the Better In Recent Years

Taylor Lautner has “only fond memories” of Twilight more than a decade after the final movie premiered in theaters, but it wasn’t always that way.

The 31-year-old actor brought the werewolf Jacob to life in the fan-favorite series, starring alongside the likes of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

During a recent interview, he revealed that he didn’t have the fondest memories of the show for a while. Taylor explained why and hypothesized about what changed for him. Read more about Taylor Lautner’s Twilight experience… During an interview on The Happy Hour radio show, Taylor explained that the fame that came with the series was daunting to navigate. “I was always incredibly thankful, and feel super blessed for what it brought me, but maybe there was a little bit of, like, resentment deep in there going like, ‘I wish I could have just experienced this part of normalcy,’” he said. “Now, I wouldn’t change it.

But I think it needed the growth to get to that place.” He reiterated that he “needed the space” to look back on the experience as fondly as he does now. Taylor has previously opened up about the “absolute nightmare” of a diet he was on for the franchise and revealed how his relationship with Robert was impacted by the roles they played.
