Thania Garcia Tate McRae is the leading lady of the albums chart this week as her latest effort, “So Close to What,” debuts at No.
1 in the United States. Not only is this the reigning pop star’s first No. 1 LP, and third full-length release overall, but McRae also enters the chart with biggest opening numbers for a woman artist this year.
The 15-song project makes its entrance atop the Billboard 200 with 177,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Luminate.
The record was introduced with three singles: “2 Hands,” “Sports Car” and “It’s OK I’m OK,” with the latter being the highest-charting on the Hot 100 at No.
