‘Targeted’ machete attack on Scots street leaves man with head injuries

A man has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after a ‘targeted’ machete attack on a street in Lanark.Emergency services were called to the scene on Rhyber Avenue at around 8.35pm on Thursday, June 9, after the alarm was raised.

A 31-year-old man was badly injured after the suspect, who was accompanied by three other men, assaulted him in the street.The gang-of-four also vandalised windows of a house on the same street before fleeing the scene in a dark-coloured motor.

The victim was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a stable condition.
