Tamayo Perry Dies In Shark Attack: ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Actor Was Aged 49
deadline.comPirates of the Caribbean actor Tamayo Perry has died after a shark attack while surfing in Hawaii. Perry, who was also a lifeguard and professional surfer, had been fatally attacked on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu’s emergency services confirmed in a press conference.
Paramedics on Malaekahana Beach, Oahu, pronounced him dead after he had been taken to shore by jet ski. He had suffered “more than one possible bites,” according to officials.
The 49-year-old actor was known for playing a buccaneer in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in the Johnny Depp action franchise.
The feature also starred Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush and Ian McShane. He also had roles in Lost, Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Crush, mainly as a surfer, and performed stunts in several others.
