Jack White is auctioning off his Tesla car after publicly calling out Elon Musk on several occasions in recent months.The former White Stripes singer, once an avid Tesla fan, has made his souring feelings towards Musk known over the past year, including hitting out at the SpaceX and Tesla boss for Trump’s return to Twitter, calling it “absolutely disgusting” and “an asshole move” on Musk’s part.White then quit Twitter, and later mocked Musk’s “free speech” hypocrisy after Kanye West’s Twitter ban.Now, the musician is auctioning his Tesla along with a selection of other items for a virtual garage sale with his label Third Man, having partnered with Everything But The House. Jack White has shared a moving tribute to his “good friend” Paul Reubens following the actor and comedian’s death last week.Reubens, who is best known for portraying Pee-wee Herman on the big screen and TV, died on Sunday (July 30) following a private bout of cancer. He was 70 years old.Among those to pay their respects online were US television host Jimmy Kimmel, actor Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) and director Tim Burton, the latter of whom helmed Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985).Taking to Instagram yesterday (July 31), White posted an image of Reubens in the music video for The Raconteurs‘ debut single ‘Steady, As She Goes’ (2006).

Queens Of The Stone Age member Dean Fertita has announced plans for his debut solo album ‘Tropical Gothclub’.The LP, which will be released via Third Man Records on November 4, features 11 tracks.The Raconteurs and Dead Weather man has also shared the first taster from the record – ‘Wheels Within Wheels’, which you can listen to below.“One thing can influence another on levels we don’t see. All of our experience is chemical alteration and total DNA demolition,” Fertita said of the track.“‘Tropical Gothclub’ as a concept is futuristic nostalgia going through the seven stages of escapism, understanding the subliminal messages I’ve been sending and receiving to myself, and letting fantasy take a machete to the darkest corners of my mind. I want subculture shock and volcanic rock,” he added.The track will be released at Third Man Nashville, Detroit and London storefronts as a 7 inch with B-side ‘Street Level’, on October 7.Of the album, Fertita added: “The ‘Tropical Gothclub’ songs are like concept cars.

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett has shared a new solo single, ‘Long, Long Year’ – listen to it below.Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, the track features bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) and drummer Julian Doro (Eagles of Death Metal, The Whigs) among other musicians.It was produced by the Grammy-winning Vance Powell, who’s previously worked with the likes of Jack White and his side project band The Dead Weather.Speaking about how the emotional, country-tinged song came about, Shiflett explained: “I spent a lot of time alone at my studio in LA during the first part of the lockdown just woodshedding tunes.“The line ‘It’s been a long, long year‘ was rattling around my head for obvious reasons, but I framed it as a love song.”The musician said that he then recorded his first solo material since his 2019 album, ‘Hard Lessons’,  during a trip to Nashville in March 2021.“I hadn’t done much traveling post-COVID lockdown so I was a little nervous heading out there to work with a producer and roomful of musicians I didn’t really know,” Shiflett went on.“In true Nashville style we made our introductions and got right down to work, hammering out the basic tracks in a few hours.”He continued: “Vance was great and made me feel right at home, and the group of players he put together were on point.  Next day we did some overdubs and Sierra [Hull] came in and added mandolin and harmony vocals on ‘Long, Long Year’ and the tracks started coming together.”Details of a potential new solo record have not yet been confirmed.‘Long, Long Year’ marks the first music from a member of Foo Fighters since the death of the band’s drummer, Taylor Hawkins, in March.
