Call Me By Your Name star Armie Hammer has been cast in vigilante thriller The Dark Knight, continuing a comeback for the actor who has been away from the film industry since 2021.As reported by Variety, the film is about a character called Sanders, who takes to the streets looking to take justice into his own hands hunting criminals. He becomes a social media sensation, with his public status as a hero contrasting with the opinion of a police chief, who sees him as a scourge to society.The film will be written and directed by German filmmaker Uwe Boll, best known for 2005 video game adaptation Alone In The Dark.The title of the film, as well as the broad subject matter, is reminiscent of the Batman franchise, with Christopher Nolan’s 2008 film The Dark Knight having the same name.
