New Found Glory, Bowling For Soup and Plain White T’s are among the artists set to contribute songs to an all pop-punk Disney covers album.‘A Whole New Sound’ will be released on September 6 and will be made up of classic songs from the Disney songbook reimagined by pop-punk groups.Other artists involved in the project include Simple Plan, Meet Me @ The Altar, Magnolia Park and Yellowcard.The latest single to be shared from the compilation is New Found Glory’s version of ‘Part Of Your World’, the beloved track from 1989’s The Little Mermaid.Listen to their version here:The band’s guitarist Chad Gilbert has said: “In approaching this song, I sat with the lyrics and melodies for a while. I realized that to make people feel what Ariel’s feeling, we needed to match the energy of the music with the rebellious thoughts of the song, along with her hope for adventure.

Meet Me @ The Altar have covered ‘Take Me Away’ from the soundtrack of Freaky Friday.The song is set to appear, alongside recent original song ‘Give It Up’, on the deluxe version of their debut album ‘Past // Present // Future’, which will land on September 29 via Fueled By Ramen.The song is performed in Freaky Friday by the fictional band Pink Slip, which protagonist Anna (Lindsay Lohan) is a part of.“Aside from it just being an absolutely iconic moment in pop culture, ‘Take Me Away’, Pink Slip, and Freaky Friday as a whole had a lot of influence over us growing up,” the band said in a press release. “It’s everything we love all meshed into one – female representation in punk music, and on screen! Being able to pay homage to such an endless well of inspiration to us was really gratifying.

Meet Me @ The Altar have announced that they’ll be heading back to the UK next year for a run of tour dates.Following their debut UK live shows with All Time Low last month, the US pop-punk trio will embark on a European tour in support of State Champs, which reaches the UK in May.Meet Me @ The Altar, comprising guitarist Téa Campbell, drummer Ada Juarez and singer Edith Johnson, will take in shows at Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham as well as two gigs at London’s Electric Ballroom.The band are also scheduled to play Slam Dunk and Download Festival next year. You can see their full list of tour dates below.In addition to the tour news, Meet Me @ The Altar have also shared a video for ‘Now Or Never’, which features on their acclaimed major
