Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has hinted that Grand Theft Auto 6 is aiming for a release before April 2025.According to the company’s latest earnings call, Take-Two Interactive anticipates “$8 billion in net bookings” in the fiscal year 2025. That occurs between April 2024 and March 2025, therefore suggesting that the publisher expects a significant release in that window.“We are confident that the actions our teams are taking this year are preparing us for a strong trajectory of growth,” said Take-Two Interactive’s chief financial officer, Lainie Goldstein.“Through our collective efforts, we continue to believe that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond.”Previously, CEO Strauss Zelnick suggested in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz that the fiscal year 2025 would show “some great successes” with 36 games to be released in the fiscal years 2025 and 2026.Earlier this year, the teenager who was accused of hacking Rockstar Games’ servers to leak Grand Theft Auto 6 was found unfit to stand trial.

T-Pain is apparently working with Rockstar Games on Grand Theft Auto 6.Speaking to fans during a recent livestream that’s now circulating on social media, T-Pain (real name Faheem Rashad Najm) revealed that he’s working on Grand Theft Auto 6.Responding to a fan question about playing Grand Theft Auto Online, T-Pain explained that he used to be an active member of the GTA role-playing server NoPixel before being asked to quit because of the conflict of interest.“I used to be on NoPixel, then I started working on Grand Theft Auto 6, and [Rockstar] told me I couldn’t do role-play anymore because it kind of goes against [their rules].

Grand Theft Auto VI features Tom Petty‘s song ‘Love Is A Long Road’.The first trailer for the highly anticipated new instalment to the classic video game finally arrived today (December 5) after it was leaked online a few hours prior.While the new trailer does not include an official release date for the game, it suggested a release window of 2025.Soundtracking the trailer is Petty’s song from 1989 album ‘Full Moon Fever’, which was released as a B-side to his hit single ‘Free Fallin’’.The synth-rock track is played over a montage of clips from the new game, including boat parties, car drifting and store hold-ups, as Petty sings that love is a “long, long road”.Rockstar is taking players back to Vice City for Grand Theft Auto 6, and will this time introduce the series’ new female protagonist, Lucia, with Bonnie and Clyde-type story elements.The song appears to be fitting for the new love story that’s teased, which features a clip of a couple discussing the importance of trust before bursting into a store with masked faces and wielding guns.Co-written by guitarist Mike Campbell, the song was said to be inspired by a motorcycle he owned. “I was really into that frame of mind,” he once said, per Rolling Stone.

It’s alleged that Kurtaj also attacked BT and EE, and used Rockstar’s own Slack channel to threaten to release Grand Theft Auto 6‘s source code.While Kurtaj is suspected of acting alone for the Rockstar, Uber and Revolut hacks, a 17-year-old who cannot be named is thought to have been involved in the blackmailing of BT and EE.Prosecutors claimed that both were “key players” in Lapsus$, and attempted to blackmail BT and EE for $4million (£3million).

Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will be set in a fictionalised version of Miami, and players will follow a female protagonist.In an article published today (July 27), Bloomberg has claimed that GTA 6 will feature the series’ first female character – a Latina who will be one of two leading characters. Speaking to Bloomberg, sources familiar with the project say that the pair of characters are influenced by Bonnie and Clyde.Bloomberg‘s report also claims that GTA 6 will be set in a fictionalised Miami and its neighbouring areas, though the game was initially designed to feature “large swaths of North and South America.”It also states that due to developer Rockstar‘s ongoing efforts to tackle crunch culture within its projects – along with the project’s scale and issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic – GTA 6 is taking longer to create. To get it released earlier, Rockstar is reportedly going to update the game with new missions and cities regularly post-launch.Because of GTA 6‘s slow production, developers interviewed by Bloomberg have claimed that the game is “at least” two years away from launching.Bloomberg has also reported that besides trying to move away from crunch, Rockstar also wants to avoid using Grand Theft Auto‘s satirical humour to “punch down” on marginalized groups.
