Cage The Elephant guitarist Brad Shultz has spoken to NME about being invited to support Oasis on the North American leg of their 2025 reunion tour, while also previewing the band’s own UK headline dates in February.Kicking off at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium on August 24, Cage The Elephant will join all American, Canadian and Mexican dates on the Oasis Live ‘25 tour, culminating with two nights in Mexico City on September 12 and 13.The Kentucky-raised rockers have spent the last months touring in support of their sixth album ‘Neon Pill’, which arrived in May. Speaking fresh off an appearance at Mexico City’s Corona Capital Festival last Friday (November 15), Shultz told NME that “I think I might have blacked out a little bit!” upon receiving the news of joining the Gallaghers on the road.“It’s an honour to support Oasis,” he said.

Cage The Elephant have announced plans for a UK and European tour in 2025.The band will be hitting the road on February 13 at the O2 Academy in Glasgow before calling at Manchester, Wolverhampton and London. They will go on tour various dates in Europe before wrapping up at the Zenith Arena in Paris on February 26.

Cage The Elephant singer Matt Shultz has spoken to NME about the three years he spent in psychosis and the arrest on gun charges that resulted and the new album ‘Neon Pill’ – which came out of the nightmare.Shultz was detained in a hotel in New York in January 2023 for carrying firearms which were only licensed in Kentucky and Tennessee. The arrest, a court found, was the result of psychotic delusions which Shultz had been suffering from as a side-effect of medication he’d been prescribed. After eight months of treatment, he now believes himself to be fully recovered.“It’s a lot better now than it was, for sure,” he told NME.

Cage The Elephant have dropped a charismatic new single titled ‘Good Time’ – check it out below.Shared today (April 5), the new track marks the latest single to be taken from the Kentucky-bred six-piece’s upcoming album ‘Neon Pill’, which they announced back in February.Musically, the new track sees Matthew Shultz, Brad Shultz, Daniel Tichenor, Jared Champion, Nick Bockrath and Matthan Minster make a nod to their fan favourite mid-2010s classics, with the frontman jumping into the track with the brash opening lines: “I’m the bright lights, I’m the feature/ I’m a spacehead, I’m a creature/ I’m a lover, I’m a fable/ I’m the glutton at your table”.It also sees the members create an eye-catching variety of layers, with cheeky guitar chords being paired with the fuzzy, unconventional keyboard melody.Check out the track below.“‘Good Time’ was one of those rare tracks that captivated me almost instantaneously. Cage The Elephant frontman Matt Shultz has opened up about the “mental health crisis” he faced that led to his arrest in 2023.In January last year, Shultz was apprehended for illegal possession of two loaded guns the day after an employee at the Bowery Hotel in Lower Manhattan allegedly saw him carrying a handgun into the ground floor public toilets.The prosecutors claimed Shultz appeared to be intoxicated at the time and when the police arrived at his hotel room, they found two guns and a set of 11 Polaroid photos, some of which showed the firearm in question.He later pleaded guilty to three charges of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon and walked away with a no-jail plea deal.Now, Shultz has finally opened up about the incident via a post on Instagram. “It’s a miracle that I’m here today.

Cage The Elephant have returned with their first new song in five years, ‘Neon Pill’.The track is the band’s first new music since the release of their 2019 album ‘Social Cues’ and sees frontman Matt Shultz reminisce upon a failed romance – “It’s a hit and run, oh no/Double-crossed by a neon pill/Like a loaded gun, my love/Double crossed, crossed by a neon pill,” he sings in its chorus.The song has also seen them reunite with producer John Hill, who recorded it with them at Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas.Check out ‘Neon Pill’ below:‘Neon Pill’ is also the first new Cage The Elephant song to be released since Shultz’ legal troubles last year.
