Naman Ramachandran U.K. broadcaster industry Channel 4 has launched a new scheme aimed at improving off-screen diversity in the post-production sector. The 4PP (4 Post Production) initiative will offer five mid to senior-level individuals from underrepresented backgrounds a six-month program of bespoke skills gap training, mentoring from senior figures in the industry and shadowing and placement opportunities. Developed in partnership with dialogue editor and dubbing mixer Emma Butt, who has over 12 years of experience in the industry and recently wrote a paper on the lack of diversity in the post-production sound sector in TV, the program is the first of its kind. The initiative was created following a panel session hosted by Channel 4 and Butt earlier this year, which discussed diversity, equity and inclusion in post-production.

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant lost out on a trip to Hawaii after failing to solve a seemingly simple puzzle in Thursday’s episode of the popular game show.Contestant Antoinette Myers started off the episode’s “Prize Puzzle” strong guessing four “T’s” for $600 each in the “Song Title” category before going on a hot streak and guessing nine correct letters which included the purchase of three vowels.During the streak, Myers had also raked in three large prize wedges of $3,500, $1 million, and the XL wedge which acted as the large wedge number of $3,500 and brought her total puzzle winnings to $13,600.Myers was able to get the first three words and part of the last word to have the board show “TWO TICKETS TO _ _ R_ _ ISE,” before the Englewood native made the fatal mistake of guessing the wrong vowel.“I’d like to buy a vowel, ‘U,'” Myers asks as Vanna White reacts to the crushing fail while the buzzer sounded off.Myers reacted with a playful but disappointing “ahh” as her fellow contestants attempted to hold in their laughs to her misfortune.Contestant Erica Johnsen followed Myers and she was able to easily guess the correct phrase, “TWO TICKETS TO PARADISE.”As Johnsen claimed victory on the puzzle, she was awarded with two tickets of her own to paradise, or in this case Maui, where she won a trip to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa plus $5,000 in cash, a combined total of $13,200.Myers didn’t keep any of the money she collected during her hot streak, nor did she get to keep the million wedge because of her failure.

From working under Hype Williams on the set of the 1998 classic movie “Belly,” to directing music videos for hip-hop heavyweights like Kendrick Lamar and Drake, the visual artist — whose real name is Julien Christian Lutz — has been delivering outstanding visuals for three decades and counting. Today, Lutz’s production company Fela teams up with Insight Production in announcing the launch of a new series dubbed “Video Star.” The show will explore the behind-the-scenes process and cultural impact of the most groundbreaking, innovative music videos dating back to the ’70s. It will additionally spotlight videos of the ’90s (when seven-figure budgets were introduced) leading up to modern-day examples, including some of Director X’s own innovative creations.

Rina Sawayama has announced an upcoming North American tour kicking off this June.The ‘This Hell’ singer took to social media on Tuesday (March 28), confirming that the Hold The Girl Reloaded tour will see her perform 12 shows between June 9 and October 9. William Earl The Killers, Kendrick Lamar, Odesza, Khalid and the 1975 are among the notable performers set for the Life Is Beautiful festival that takes over downtown Las Vegas in September. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Omar Apollo, Kim Petras, FLUME, Nelly and Bebe Rexha are also lined up to play the 10th anniversary edition of the music and arts festival. Las Vegas mainstays such as Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Jabbawockeez, Magic Mike Live, Piff the Magic Dragon and Tape Face will also be on hand for performances and appearances. As usual, the fest will showcase a slew of buzzy and rising star acts across its Sept. 22-24 run. “We are thrilled that all three headliners will be returning to the festival. It’s pretty special to have this collection of artists who have all been so instrumental to music over the lifespan of Life is Beautiful,” said Craig Asher Nyman, Life is Beautiful’s director of music, programming and development. “Pairing those artists with current and future superstars of music sets the stage for our biggest party yet.”
