The Swedish Film Institute has appointed former Sveriges Television exec Anna Croneman as its new CEO. She will take up her post in mid-April 2024.
Croneman originally trained as a producer at the Swedish Institute of Dramatic Art. At Sveriges Television, Croneman served as Head of Drama.
She held the role since 2017. Some of her commissioning credits at the broadcaster include Caliphate, Thin Blue Line, and Blackwater.
Before that, she was with Avanti Film, a production company that she co-founded. She also previously served as Vice Chair of the SFI board and the Swedish Film&TV-Producers Association. “Swedish film is facing some huge challenges, and the task ahead feels quite overwhelming at this point.
