A survivor of sexual abuse by members of the legal establishment in Scotland claims she has been excluded from the child abuse inquiry.
Susie Henderson, 56, suffered years of abuse at the hands of her father, Robert Henderson QC, and many of his friends in legal circles.
But she says she has been made to feel like her abuse didn’t matter as it is not being examined in the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (SCAI), set up to examine “institutional” sex cases.Henderson was the key player in the “Magic Circle” scandal of the early 90s, where it was claimed that senior lawyers, including judges, who were secretly gay, were conspiring to pervert the course of justice.It has emerged in recent months that the circle was little more than a smokescreen for the paedophile ring Henderson orchestrated.
Victims who were sexually abused at home are excluded from the SCAI, which has been running for seven years. Susie says her abusers were among the most powerful people in Scotland and that it should investigate.She added: “I knew it was primarily about children in care but where do people go that have been abused by the Faculty of Advocates, one of Scotland’s most powerful institutions?
