Ryan Medrano, an alum of Survivor Season 43 in 2022, won the silver medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games with a personal best in the men’s 100-meter T38 final.
With a 10.97 finishing time, he placed second behind fellow American Jaydin Blackwell, who nabbed a world record at the event with 10.64.
The two were shown embracing post-run as the United States went 1-2 in the race. Medrano, who finished ninth in his season of the reality competition series, will continue on at the Paralympics with two more T38 events: the men’s 400-meter race and the men’s long jump.
The T38 disability sport classification is for track athletes with cerebral palsy who have moderate coordination impairments, including hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis.
