Active Tom Thomson, 40, was going about his day as normal when he lost his coordination and feeling in the left side of his body on Wednesday evening.
The dad-of-two, from Irvine, took a sip of water before slumping against the wall and realising he'd spilt his drink down him.
Unable to call for help, he managed to sit down before his son spotted him on his way to the toilet.Just three weeks prior he was competing in the Ring of Steall Skyrace in Inverness.The gruelling challenge involves around a 19 mile race covering four munros, ridges and rivers - a feat which Tom completed in just over 7 hours.Less than a month
