Suki Waterhouse is back with new music! On Thursday (June 20), the 32-year-old musician and actress introduced her forthcoming double album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin with its lead single “Supersad.” This marks her first album since 2022′s I Can’t Let Go.
She also unveiled the complete tracklist and explained the project’s unique title. Head inside to listen to Suki Waterhouse’s new song and to learn more about her upcoming album… “I tried to write a nineties song you could hear playing at the mall in Clueless or as an opening track for Legally Blonde,” Suki said about “Supersad,” which was paired with a music video directed by Émilie Richard-Froozan.
How did she come up with the title for the album? It’s all inspired by a very uniquely named spider. “I came across the Sparklemuffin — which is wildly colored, does this razzle-dazzle dance, and its mate will cannibalize it if she doesn’t approve of the dance.
It’s a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in. The title felt hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful to me,” she explained in a press release.
