possum was found hanging on a washing line on a balcony of a flat in Rutherglen near Glasgow. The Scottish SPCA has now issued an appeal for its owners after they were alerted to the small marsupial clinging to a towel on Croftfoot Street by a member of the public on August 13.
The tiny flying animal is native to Australia, Tasmania, New Guinea and parts of Indonesia. Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Amy Stirton, said “The sugar glider was found clinging to a towel hanging from a washing line. “The tiny marsupial was found four storeys high in a balcony area. "We’re not sure how it came to be there, but it could have easily escaped from a cage and have an owner out there looking for it.
