He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle allowed husband Prince Harry to “take the lead” during their recent outing in New York City, a body language expert has claimed.

The pair attended the Project Healthy Minds' World Mental Health Day Festival 2023 on Tuesday 10 October, where they discussed mental health in the digital age, with a specific focus on raising awareness of making online usage safer for parents and children.

While at the event, Meghan, 42, fought back tears as she took to the stage for The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in the Digital Age portion of the event, which she hosted alongside her husband.

According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Meghan’s choice of outfit was particularly poignant for the occasion, with the Duchess of Sussex previously wearing the colour white to take “a step back” from the spotlight. “Meghan wore white on a couple of appearances during the Invictus Games, where her body language showed how she took a step back for Harry to take the lead, which matches the meaning of wearing white,” Darren told OK!, speaking on behalf of Spin Genie. “She was there alongside her husband, but very much wanting him to take control as she knows how much the games mean to him.
