Stuart Damon has passed away at the age of 84 his son has confirmed. The actor who played Alan Quartermaine in General Hospital for 30 years had suffered from renal failure for several years.
His son Chris confirmed his death to ABC7's George Pennachio. He told the presenter that being part of the soap was his dad's "favourite place to be".
He said: "He loved playing Alan and was always so appreciative of that role and that job. It was his passion." As well as spending three decades on General Hospital, Stuart was well known for his portrayal of characters in Days of Our Lives, As the World Turns and Port Charles.
