Stromae and Pomme have released the music video for their Arcane anthem ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ – check it out below:‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ was originally released as part of the Arcane season two soundtrack and Stromae’s collaboration with Pomme has gone on to rack up more than 315million streams on Spotify.The track was featured in a pivotal moment of Arcane’s second season, soundtracking a dance between Ekko and Powder. “My first reaction when I saw the scene was, frankly, I found it quite poetic,” said Stromae.“Even to this day, it’s a song that continues to exist in people’s lives, and I think what happened is really magical… I actually understood the people’s reaction and enthusiasm because there was a beauty, a romanticism and sweetness which is quite rare in the series.
There was something special about that episode,” added Pomme.The song also marked Stromae’s return to music after taking a break in 2023 for health issues.Now an official music video for ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ has been released – and you can check it out below:Director Tom Gouill of Animators Fortiche Production told NME about his inspiration for the music video.”Our ambition was to merge Jinx’s dreamlike world with a music video aesthetic, integrating the dance sequence from episode 207 while preserving its beauty and impact,” he explained.“To achieve this, we chose to combine live-action techniques with Arcane’s signature rendering.
By filming the dance on a cathode screen, we introduced a layer of nostalgia, a subtle nod to the fact that Arcane has ended,” he continued. “We also incorporated distinctive music video staging, such as Ekko and Powder singing back-to-back and strobe light effects.
