Franny Amartey has vowed to get Ayr fans off their seats after penning a two year deal at Somerset Park.The striker with pace to burn became United's newest recruit on a day when they landed a cross border double.Amartey, who moves from National League side Aldershot, represents the club's latest raid on untapped corners of the English game.Prior to that, two years at non-league Hayes & Yeading saw Amartey bag 46 goals in a spell laden with promise which has alerted Ayr's recruitment team.Now the former Birmingham City kid is looking to follow a well worn path to South Ayrshire and make a name for himself in the Scottish Championship.
He told the Ayrshire Post: "It's a massive opportunity for me and obviously comes with pressure, but that's a good thing in my eyes. "When I spoke to my agent about this move, I was clear that I wanted to come up here to new surroundings with new people and challenge myself."I see Scotland as a massive chance to come and make a statement.
You look at other boys who've come up here and done really well for themselves - that has to be my aim. I want to step out of my comfort zone and going back full time again is the test I want." Amartey, 24, added: "I'm a pacey type of player who loves to get at defenders and score goals - hopefully I'm someone that can excite the fans here. "When I'm on the ball I'm always looking to create and be direct.
