After 13 weeks of non-stop training and performing, the 22 year-old actress and 31 year-old Italian won the public vote and bagged the glitterball trophy.
However, at one it point it seemed like they would miss victory after an ambitious lift ended in disaster. While performing Vito flipped Ellie onto his shoulders, but while standing on them she faltered and fell, with him luckily catching her before she could reach the floor.
The mishap left the Corrie star rattled, with the duo earning their lowest score of the night. Luckily, the public did not seem to take issue with the slip up, as their vote crowned them as this year's winners, the Mirror reports.
