Strictly Come Dancing's Toyah Willcox has candidly spoken about her "life-changing" facelift, following a barrage of sexist abuse.The 66 year old punk icon, who stunned fans with her youthful appearance on Strictly's launch show last week, first opted for cosmetic surgery in the early 2000s after feeling victimised by the ageing process.
In her 2005 book Diary of a Facelift, she revealed how the procedure had transformed her life and led to further tweaks to her appearance.
However, it was her experience on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in 2003 that finally pushed her to go under the knife.
She was left shocked and hurt by the sexist comments she received from male journalists and TV personalities. "On returning home [from I'm a Celeb], I read various derogatory newspaper articles about my jungle experience, and listened to hurtful comments being made about me on a variety of TV and radio programmes," she wrote.
