The head judge, 61, was urged by viewers to get checked out after they spotted a lump under her arm during a Saturday night show.
Opening up on Instagram, Shirley thanked fans for drawing her attention to the lump and spoke about the "odd things happening in [her] body".
She said: "Good afternoon everybody. We're just having a little check-up with you. Since several of you thought you saw a lump under my arm, and I went to get that checked.
