Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has finally broken his silence after Maura Higgins revealed that the pair were in a relationship whilst appearing on I'm A Celeb.Speaking with long-time friend and Staying Relevant podcast co-host, Sam Thompson, the pals gave listeners an insight into what was going-on in their lives.

Sam then shared details of his chat with Maura Higgins after she had been eliminated from I'm A Celebrity.Along with Joel Dommett, Sam spoke to Maura on the ITV show's spin-off I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked when he told Pete that he was originally not planning to talk to the former Love Islander about her relationship with Pete.

Sam said his "loyalty to Pete beats everything" before Pete replied: "It does until the leaving interview, and you say 'welcome to the family', so I guess that one just sort of slipped out did it?"Despite Pete accusing Sam of letting "slip" during his interview with Maura, it was actually whilst chatting to fellow celebrities in camp that she confirmed the rumours surrounding her and the TOWIE star.While she had addressed rumours of her love life during the reality show, it was in the days after her elimination that she went into even more depth about her affection for Pete.
