Len Goodman has died at the age of 78, just a few months after quitting Dancing With the Stars in America and heading back to the UK to be closer to his family. The late professional dancer became a household name in the UK when he joined the original line up of Strictly Come Dancing back in 2004 and became beloved for his kind and positive judging style on the show.
He quit the show in 2016 to work full time on Dancing With the Stars, which he appeared on for 17 years before leaving the world of TV behind for good in November 2022.
While Len's TV career made him a household name, he always maintained a relatively low profile when it came to his personal life.
He had a son, James, with his late ex wife Cherry Kingston, who in turn has two children of his own with wife Sophie. Len was thought to be very close to his son and his two grandkids, seven year old Alice and three year old Dan and cited a need to spend more time with them as part of the reason for his move back across the pond.
