Strictly Come Dancing's female professionals are heading for a huge battle to make history on the BBC show. Former boxer Nicola Adams, 37, will form the first same-sex couple on the show and the gloves are off among the pros to be the one that partners in the forthcoming series.
As the bell rings for the first round of attempts to persuade the show's producers that they are the perfect candidate, it has been reported that 31-year-old Katya Jones is in pole position at the moment but there is a queue of pros wanting to take the role from her.
Current Glitterball Trophy winner, 37-year-old Oti Mabuse, is lobbying producers to be the one to partner Nicola, while Janette Manrara, 36, and Karen Hauer, 38, also have their eyes on the prize.
