Strictly Come Dancing's Eddie Kadi joked "there had to be a catch" as he spoke about escaping elimination just a week after scoring the first perfect ten of the series.

The comedian and partner Karen Hauer's American Smooth failed to impress on Saturday, landing them in the dance-off. Shirley Ballas - the judge who awarded them the coveted top mark the week before - told them: "For me the feet are flat, it's a little bit of a dance disaster for me." Eddie and Karen had to dance again but were saved by the judges, with Paralympian Jody Cundy and partner Jowita Przystal sent packing.

Speaking on BBC Two's Strictly: It Takes Two companion show about how it felt to find himself in the bottom two, the British-Congolese star told host Fleur East: "It felt like deportation!

I felt like I'm in immigration, like "don't send me back, I like London!" As soon as it was done Karen just said 'Good, we're just going to dance again."
