Adam Peaty has been spotted for the first time since announcing his split from girlfriend Eiri Munro. The Olympic swimmer, 27, announced his split from his girlfriend, 24, in a lengthy message as he apologised to her and their one year old son earlier this week for “letting them down”.The sports star, who competed in Strictly Come Dancing last year with Katya Jones as his partner, was seen leaving a hotel in Manchester, following news of their split.

Adam was seen wearing a black T-shirt and shorts and had a multi-coloured backpack over one shoulder as he left the hotel to get into a waiting car.The star previously opened up about his split from his girlfriend of three years, saying they wanted to create the “happiest and healthiest home environment” for their son George, who turns two in September.

In a lengthy statement on Instagram on Tuesday he wrote: "We have enjoyed a wonderful three years together, 2 of those with our gorgeous son George.

Our priority has always been to provide the happiest and healthiest home environment for him, and right now that means ending our romantic relationship. "I could not ask for a greater mother for George and I am so grateful to Eiri for her amazing support over the last three years." He added: "My only interest is for the well-being of our family at this difficult time so I ask that our privacy is respected and I won’t be saying anything further." The three-time Olympic gold medallist is the latest victim of the so-called Strictly curse, joining a long line of celebs whose relationships have ended after appearing on the BBC One dance competition.
