evoke.ieStrictly Come Dancing fans were gobsmacked when Bill Bailey’s real name was revealed on the BBC series. The semi-finals definitely raised the bar from previous years, but it wasn’t the dancing that had fans all a titter.
Ahead of his first dance of the night, he spoke about the song they had chosen the aptly named (Won’t You Come Home) Bill Bailey by Ottilie Patterson with Chris Barber.
It was then he dropped a bombshell on us all that his name isn’t actually Bill Bailey. His real name is actually Mark! Speaking in his VT, he revealed he was first given the nickname Bill by his geography teacher at school because of the classic tune.
