Strictly Come Dancing fans have accused head judge Shirley Ballas of giving out low scores to the female contestants on the show, just a year after she was hit with a sexism row.The experienced dancer gave a lower score than her fellow judges to celebrities, Anglea Rippon, Zara McDermott, and Ellie Leach on Saturday, 30 September.
As Shirley gave her feedback and then her score during the show, she was booed by members of the live audience. A source has claimed that her scores came as a "surprise," and that comes just a year after she was accused of favouring the male contestants over the female ones.
During the show, former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, 22, and her partner Vito Coppola were given an eight from Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood, but Shirley gave them a seven.
Love Island star Zara McDermott, 26, with her professional Graziano Di Prima, was awarded a six by the trio of judges, and Shirley decided their dance was worthy of a five.
