Strictly couple struggle to afford dream home as they admit 'we have to dance harder'

Strictly Come Dancing favourites Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec faced the music on Celebrity Escape to the Country when they discovered that a dreamy Cheshire property was out of their price range.The much-loved dance pair were featured in the celeb edition of the hit series as they scoured for a family abode, with current roots already set down in Cheshire through renting.

On a mission to find a place to bring up their daughter, they had help from presenter Sonali Shah, who introduced them to several high-end dwellings.During their house hunting journey, the second home on the list, complete with luxury amenities like a gym and a private stream, carried an eye-watering £925,000 price tag.

Aljaz responded jokingly to the steep cost: "I think we just need to dance a little bit harder. That's what we need to do, dance a little harder and better."Janette shared in the humour and quipped in agreement: "So we can afford it! " Their financial ceiling was set between £700-900,000, meaning this particular property pushed their budget boundaries.

This episode of Escape to the Country which starred the Strictly couple originally graced screens in December 2023. Upon its initial release, some viewers took issue with the show's shift towards celebrity wealth, pointing out the disconnect between their substantial house-buying budget and the more modest sums typically showcased on the programme, reports Wales Online.
