Toyah Willcox has been served a dose of disappointment just a day before the next Strictly Come Dancing live showdown, now tipped as the most likely to take her final bow this Saturday. The artist and screen star is currently bookies' frontrunner at 6-4 for the dance floor exit, leaving competitors such as Paul Merson and Nick Knowles trailing with odds of 7-2 and 9-2 respectively.

Yet, in terms of the ultimate prize, Tasha Ghouri takes the lead at 3-1, hot on her heels are JB Gill and Chris McCausland both standing strong at 7-2. "Toyah is under the most pressure for a big performance on Saturday night, as we make her the favourite to be the first contestant eliminated from this year's series," Coral spokesman John Hill says. "Paul Merson and Nick Knowles are also the top end of the first elimination betting and are in danger of being in the dance-off this weekend," John observed, according to the Express.

At 66 years young, Toyah, who is dancing with Neil Jones this series, opened up about her Strictly journey and the hurdles she's leapt over so far. "There's just this most extraordinary feeling you get having someone you trust hold you close and dancing," Toyah says to The Times. "I suddenly feel pre-menopausal again." When quizzed about the notorious 'Strictly curse' - a phenomenon where celebs reportedly get romantically entangled with their dance partners - Toyah waved away the notion. "I'm not saying we're doing anything wrong but, ooh yes, it's nice to remember that feeling," she remarked. "I'm 24 years older than my pro, and I adore him.
