Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has fired back at a troll on social media who questioned if she'd had 'work done' after she was hit with criticism following the first week of the new series.

The BBC One dance contest's head judge was back with her scoring paddles over the weekend. The 2023 run of Strictly began the previous weekend with the launch show in which the 15 new celebrities discovered their professional partners.

However, the competition officially began on Saturday night (September 23) with the first live show of the 21st series. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman welcomed viewers back to the ballroom while judges Shirley, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke took their seats behind the judging panel ready to cast their expert eyes over the routines as the 15 new couples performed for the first time. But the 'Queen of Latin' came under fire for her scoring during the first show with complaints seen on social media. However, the comments did end up turning quite personal and nasty as they accused Shirley of going under the knife.
