Kevin Clifton has revealed the reason why he left Strictly Come Dancing. The 37-year-old professional dancer revealed that he threw in the towel because he didn't want to be the oldest two-stepper in the cast.

The flame-footed star - who won the show back in 2018 with his now girlfriend Stacey Dooley - said that by him leaving, it will give younger dancers a chance at showing off their talent on the hit show. "Me leaving gives younger dancers the chance to come through now.

Nobody is bigger than the show," he told The Sun. Kevin - who has appeared on Strictly for the past seven years - stated that he couldn't see himself progressing on the show any longer as he's about to hit his forties. "At age 23 it would be different.
