Armed police descended on a street in Skelmersdale and cordoned off a house as they 'negotiated with a man inside'. A cordon was put in place on School Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Pictures on social media showed a number of police vehicles on the scene with a house taped off on neighbouring Clayton Street, Lancs Live reports.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said officers were first called to the scene at around 3.45pm 'to a report of a concern for welfare'.
