‘Stranger Things’ season 5 may not be released this year: “A lot of it hasn’t been decided”

Stranger Things is one of the most highly-anticipated releases of the year, but according to a new interview with creators the Duffer Brothers, it might not actually come in 2025 after all.The show’s fifth and final season has been in the works for a few years, with the previous season airing in two parts in 2022.

The gap between seasons four and five is expected to be the longest between seasons so far – there was just over a year between one and two, just under two years between two and three, and a little under three years between three and four.It was revealed last year that the season is expected to be split into two parts, something that was also done for the previous season, but the Duffer Brothers told Variety that even releasing any of it this year could be “quite the push.”While filming has wrapped up, brothers Matt and Ross are busy in post-production, with Matt explaining: “Right now, we’re just cutting all the visual effects sequences for the show so they can get started on those, so that they can be running in time for a release.”As for when that release is, Matt said: “A lot of it hasn’t been decided, in terms of exactly the release dates and cadence.

That’s one reason I’m not allowed to talk about it. We’re getting on a call in about a couple weeks about it. I just know it was very important for us and Netflix that we get it out this year.

But even that is quite the push.”With fans eager for more Stranger Things action, Ross said they’re “working as fast as we possibly can.”They reflected on Stranger Things coming to an end after the best part of a decade, too, with Ross saying of their last day: “It was definitely sad.
