How much would you pay to get your hands on a legend's DNA? For one fan, the answer to that question is in the thousands. Strands of Kurt Cobain's hair have sold for a staggering $14,145 (£9,994.15) at an auction ober the weekend.

Memorabilia from Nirvana's legendary frontman has been finding it's way to auction houses over the last few months, with The Blast reporting that none of the money made from the sales goes to any of the late Kurt Cobain's remaining family members.

The expensive strands of hair went up for sale alongside a few pictures in attempts to prove authenticity of the claim that the blond strands grew from his head.
