Storm Arwen is causing havoc across Scotland as a number of busy routes have been closed, vehicles have been damaged and the public has been urged not to travel.
Parts of the country have been under a red alert for wind – the highest warning level possible. This means there is a danger to life and serious risk of damage to buildings.
Gale-force winds between 75mph and 90mph are being felt alongside snow in some parts of the country. The A1 is among the roads closed in both directions for safety reasons, while fallen trees causing blockages on dozens of other busy routes.Scotrail have asked the public not to travel as disruption continues on the line.A statement said: "We’re expecting major disruption to continue for most of the day.
