Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for the region on Saturday and Sunday. And tomorrow much of southern England will be battered by torrential rain and high winds as Storm Alex, a weather system named by Météo-France earlier this week, reaches the UK.The warning, which covers much of the UK, begins at 3am on Saturday and continues through to 6pm the following day.Met Office spokeswoman Bonnie Diamond said: "There's quite a wet weekend ahead for much of the UK including Greater Manchester."Storm Alex will affect mainly southern parts of the UK on Friday, but the northern tip of the storm will clip the Greater Manchester area."That system will then clear the UK, but it will be followed early on Saturday by another quite.
