Stockport now has the lowest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester -and falling - but some ‘hotspots’ are still a cause for concern.The latest figures show that the borough’s infection rate dropped by 17pc to 337 case per 100,000 people during the week to November 11.It has sparked hopes that it could soon fall below the national average, which currently stands at 270.But while the signs are highly encouraging - areas such as Bramhall South and Woodford and Hazel Grove West are already well under that figure - rates in other places remain stubbornly high, and are continuing to climb.Gatley South and Cheadle West recorded the most cases over the most recent seven day period, with 39.The area also has the second highest infection.
