A five-figure sum of cash dished out to sports clubs and groups in the Stewartry last year has had a significant impact on the community.
Hundreds of residents, young and old, have benefitted from nearly £50,000 that Stewartry Area Committee has invested in local projects and initiatives in 2023/24.
From bowling clubs and curling teams to music groups and radio projects, the cash has been well received to help the organisations and individuals thrive.
A report on the impact of the discretionary grant funding has been produced for next week’s Stewartry Area Committee. The document explains that Kirkcudbright Development Trust received £1500 which allowed more than 50 youngsters and five volunteers to enjoy a Go Wild outdoor camp where they acquired various bush skills.
