Steven Schiffman Named Executive Chairman Of EarthxTV
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Former Nat Geo Channels boss Steven Schiffman has been appointed as Executive Chairman of EarthxTV, the sustainability and conservation-focused network.
This gives the unscripted TV veteran oversight of the network’s operations. Dan Russell, President of EarthxTV, will now report directly to Schiffman, who will additionally serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Schiffman was CEO of Cooper Media, which launched two ad-supported television channels, Justice Network and Quest, which were sold to TEGNA Media for $92M.
He also served as General Manager of digital video at the Washington Post. As CEO and President of National Geographic Channels, he led on commissioning of global programming and development, marketing, ad sales and digital media.
