James Tavernier will be looking to ensure his next contract reflects an incredible contribution to the Ibrox cause.Record Sport revealed last night that the right-back is set to open talks on a new deal that will ensure he is tied down well into his thirties.The 29-year-old has been a key man in the club's first title in a decade as he racked up incredible goal and assist numbers until his season was interrupted by injury in late February.With a year left on his contract, there will have to be agreement or the club could lose a valuable asset for nothing under freedom of contract.While top prospect Nathan Patterson is waiting in the wings as a ready-made replacement, it seems unlikely the Ibrox management team would want to lose such a star.
