Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Filip Helander ’s positive test is a reminder to Rangers every club is walking a Covid tightrope. The Swedish defender sat out last night’s Betfred Cup win at Falkirk and faces at least 10 days in isolation – while George Edmundson and Jordan Jones are also in quarantine after breaking social distancing rules.Another unnamed youth player has also been hit and Gerrard is hoping to avoid further Covid stress going in to a crucial spell of the season as Gers fight for silverware on several fronts.The Ibrox boss said: “I’ll speak to Filip in the morning too to get a feeling of how he is, but he’ll be missing for 10 days and it’s a blow for us.“With George missing too it leaves us a bit light in the central areas.
