Former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly in talks to takeover as the new boss of Poland.The Liverpool icon lifted the Scottish Premiership title in 2021 with Rangers but left the Ibrox side midway through the following campaign to take make a return to the English Premier League with Aston Villa, and had been heavily touted as a future replacement for Jurgen Klopp at his old team Liverpool.

However, the the dream job quickly turned to a nightmare with Gerrard was axed at Villa Park after just 11 months in the hot seat with concerns growing over a relegation scrap this term.Since then, Unai Emery has steered Villa to a respectable mid-table position in the English top flight while Gerrard has been working behind the scenes at Anfield in various roles.

However, he could land another chance at management with the Polish FA currently searching for Czesław Michniewicz's replacement following their World Cup campaign.

Polish outlet Meczyki report that talks with Gerrard have already started ahead of their European qualifying campaign, which kicks off against the Czech Republic in March.
