The sudden death of BBC Radio 2 presenter Steve Wright has been described as "unexpected" but not suspicious, as the police share a new update.The veteran broadcaster, known for his show Steve Wright In The Afternoon, sadly passed away this week at the age of 69.
Police and paramedics were called to his Marleybone flat at 10 am on Monday, where they pronounced him dead at the scene. And a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "A man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.The death was unexpected, but is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner." Following Steve's tragic passing, his friend, celebrity publicist Gary Farrow, blamed his death on a "broken heart" after his prized Radio 2 afternoon show was axed after 24 years on-air.
He shared that Steve was left "devastated" at the news of the show's cancellation. He told The Sun: "Steve lived for that show, he absolutely loved it - and the listeners loved him.
