Steve Priest dead: The Sweet founder dies aged 72, band confirm

Steve Priest, the bassist of glam rock band The Sweet, has died at the age of 72. He was a founding member of the group who rose to worldwide fame in the 1970s with hits including Block Buster.

The news was announced on The Sweet's official Facebook page. The statement read: "Dear Friends and Fans, We have very sad news - Please see the below statement from Steve Priest’s family.
